Girl, 16, found injured on Leeds street dies | UK | News

A 16-year-old girl who died in Leeds has been named locally as detectives launch a murder investigation. The teenager was found seriously injured on Kennerleigh Avenue in Austhorpe just before 6am on Saturday, March 28.
The woman, who was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, unfortunately died later in the hospital. She was identified by West Yorkshire Police as a 16-year-old girl from the Cleckheaton area. The teenager is now called Chloe Watson locally.
The 16-year-old’s parents have been notified and are being supported by specially trained officers.
Four people arrested on suspicion of murder, two women, both 18 years old, a 20-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy, remain in custody.
The scene remains as officers carry out our investigations and anyone who was in the Kennerleigh Avenue area in the early hours of yesterday morning is asked to come forward.
Detective Superintendent Marc Bowes said: “Following an appeal for further information yesterday, we have identified the deceased as a 16-year-old girl from the Cleckheaton area.
“His family have been informed and we are supporting them as they try to come to terms with what happened.
“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area of Kennerleigh Avenue in the early hours of yesterday morning to come forward if they have any information that could assist our investigation.”
