Stone-faced WHCD gunman Cole Tomas Allen mutters odd greeting to judge in court as horrifying new details about Trump ‘assassination plot’ uncovered

Cole Tomas Allen, accused of attempting to assassinate the President at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, appeared in court today for a detention hearing.

It was his first public appearance since Monday, when he appeared in court on three charges, including an attempted assassination and two weapons charges.

Allen reportedly wished Judge Moxila Upadhyaya a ‘good morning’ and took his seat next to his lawyer with a stone-faced expression, wearing a bright orange prison jumpsuit and a white undershirt.

He agreed to remain in jail while the case continued and did not apply for bail. However, Allen’s lawyer stated that he reserved the right to object to his detention at a later date if necessary.

Allen’s defense attorney asked the court to order the prison release him from 24-hour solitary confinement. But the judge said he did not have the authority to override the jail’s decision and encouraged the defense attorney to file a motion on the matter.

His lawyers argued that Allen wanted to be placed with other inmates and that he posed no danger to himself or others.

After the judge adjourned the hearing, Allen left with his hands crossed behind his back and his head down, flanked by three U.S. marshals.

The accused hitman will appear for a preliminary hearing on May 11.

On Wednesday, federal prosecutors released a chilling selfie in which Allen appeared covered in weapons, taken in his hotel room moments before storming a security checkpoint in an alleged plot to kill Donald Trump.

Prosecutors say he took a mirror selfie in his hotel room in full evening gown at 8:03 p.m., just minutes before he arrived at the event armed with a shotgun.

‘He was wearing a black shirt, black trousers and a red tie tucked into his trousers,’ the court filing states.

He was also wearing a ‘small leather bag’ filled with ammunition, a shoulder holster, a sheathed knife, pliers and wire cutters.

Prosecutors say after taking the selfie, Allen called back to the President’s show at 8:13 p.m., then looked at the live video, which Trump arrived at at 8:27 p.m., and then sent the emailed confession to family and friends at 8:30 p.m.

Video footage published by the Washington Post on Tuesday also provides the clearest look yet at the first four seconds of the confrontation, during which agents fired at Allen and missed every shot.

A police officer draws his gun within two seconds of Allen appearing on camera, then fires multiple shots in his direction; At least some bullets pass near other agents as Allen passes them.

Footage taken from a fixed angle does not show Allen firing his gun, but authorities charged him with discharging a firearm during a violent crime.

His shotgun’s muzzle flash is not visible as he speeds past the agents.

After the video emerged, the Secret Service responded by claiming that its security measures had been ‘rigorously tested’ and were ‘critical in mitigating the threat and preventing serious harm.’

Allen then steps out of frame and trips on the top of a staircase one floor above the ballroom.

Asked whether Allen fired the gun that struck the agent, Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said Monday he could not confirm that and that forensic analysis was still ongoing.

‘We want to do this right. “So we’re still looking at that,” he added.

Blanche confirmed that the police officer did not suffer serious injuries because he was wearing a bulletproof vest.

Despite missing every shot, Blanche praised the Secret Service: ‘Law enforcement did not fail. They did exactly what they were trained to do.’

The Justice Department charged Allen with three felonies, including attempting to assassinate the President of the United States.

Allen faces life in prison if convicted.

Allen traveled from Los Angeles to Washington by train and checked into the Hilton Hotel, which hosted dinner before the start.

Allen also faces a second charge of carrying a firearm in interstate commerce with intent to commit a crime.

The third charge, use of a firearm during a violent crime, carries a minimum sentence of 10 years in prison, as well as the possibility of life in prison if prosecutors prove the gun was fired.

Allen is represented by court-appointed attorneys. In response to a question from Federal Judge Matthew J Sharpe, he said there were no drugs in his system.

Allen has not yet entered a plea.
