The ‘exact moment’ Prince William and Prince Harry’s relationship turned sour | Royal | News

The key moment that sparked tension between Prince William and Prince Harry has been pinpointed by experts. The Prince of Wales and the Duke of Sussex were once very close in their youth.
But soon after the Duke married Meghan Markle in 2018, brotherly relations turned very cold, with the Sussex couple quitting royal duties and moving to the US in early 2002. Now a royal expert has weighed in on a conversation between the two when their relationship allegedly began to unravel.
Royal commentator Katie Nicholl has claimed that the feud between William and Harry may have started as early as 2017.
She told the Sun: “I think the moment we realized there was tension between the brothers was after Vanity Fair printed a story about William urging Harry to take his time because they were engaged.
“Of course, it took William many years to propose this. [Princess Catherine] because he wanted her to be his wife. He wanted her to know that this was what he wanted for his own life.
“And I guess, you know, what was supposed to be well-intentioned brotherly advice wasn’t to Harry’s liking.”
The royal correspondent added: “And I think that was the beginning of the real unraveling of their relationship.
“I mean, Harry was really upset that he didn’t feel like he had his brother’s support regarding Meghan.”
Royal writer Robert Jobson agreed, saying: “I think William, like any brother, was probably keeping an eye on her and saying: Do you think this is happening pretty quickly?
“What do you really know about this girl? Shouldn’t you spend some more time getting to know her? This got a bad reaction.”
“He was really, really unhappy about it. He couldn’t reconcile himself about it.”
“After that, the relationship slowly began to unravel. I was told this at Christmas, when Harry and Meghan went to stay with William and Kate.”
