The DMV is known to be unpleasant, but Florida has found a way to make getting a driver’s license even more complicated.

Starting Friday, February 6, Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) announced He said all driver’s license tests will be conducted in English only. This change applies to both commercial and non-commercial licenses and eliminates exams previously offered in languages such as Spanish and Haitian Creole, as well as the option to use an interpreter.

“I’m racist for no reason,” one person wrote.
“30% of households in Florida do not speak English as their primary language at home. Persecution is the real issue,” added another.
People online also warned of broader political ramifications, noting Florida’s political ramifications. voter ID requirements and the law’s potential impact on many Floridians’ right to vote.
Some believe this change could have the opposite effect, making roads less safe by further encouraging unlicensed driving.
