The Masters 2026: Jon Rahm confident he will play in 2027 Ryder Cup

The 31-year-old contributed three points to Europe’s victory over the USA on American soil for the first time since 2012 at last year’s biennial event. He was also on the winning team in three of the four matches he played.
It’s no surprise that captain Luke Donald, who selected Rahm among six wildcard selections last year, wants to have him on his team as he tries to become the first European captain to win three Ryder Cups.
“I didn’t think taking legal action and going to court would be good for anyone,” Rahm added.
“I have confidence in DP World Tour and that we will find a good solution.
“We continue to talk to them and try to negotiate. I’ve pretty much given up on a few things. We’ll figure it out.
“As of right now DP World Tour are doing what they need to do and following the channels they need to follow, but I’m confident this will be resolved before I start in September.”
Rahm said he doesn’t know if he’ll be able to compete in DP World Tour events right now, but it doesn’t matter because he doesn’t plan on playing any events until the LIV season ends in August.
That time frame will potentially make him ready to play in the Irish Open, which starts on September 9, and he has name-checked a number of other events as well.
“I intend to continue supporting the DP World Tour,” he said.
“I’m grateful to be a member. I’m grateful to support the tour and attend the amazing events.
“The Irish Open has been very good for me and I would love to come back.
“Wentworth has been amazing every year, the Spanish Open, maybe even Dunhill. We’ve got some events like the French Open and the French Open. [European Masters]. These are the things I would love to have the chance to play.”
Rahm begins his quest to win his second Masters title on Thursday at 18:08 ET alongside Ryder Cup teammate Ludvig Aberg and American Chris Gotterup.
