Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are among the world’s most famous children, but you wouldn’t know it from school. Since 2022, Prince William and Princess Kate’s three children have been attending Lambrook School in Berkshire together.
Prince William and Princess Kate are known to enjoy doing the school run with the children and are believed to be involved in the school community by attending sporting events, shows and events. Even though they are the future King and Queen, they are first and foremost mothers and fathers at the school gate.
A similar situation applies to George, Charlotte and Louis; Behind the gates at Lambrook they are treated like any other student, despite being grandchildren of King Charles.
This includes how they are treated in class and their names.
Although George and his younger siblings have royal titles, they do not use such titles at school.
Instead, they use names that are not that different from other children.
These names are George Wales, Charlotte Wales and Louis Wales; The surname Wales is a nod to his parents’ titles as Prince and Princess of Wales.
This is Queen Elizabeth II. It was the title given to William and Kate after Elizabeth’s death in September 2022.
Before this, William and Kate held the titles Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and their children’s school records reportedly previously used that as their surname.
It’s thought 12-year-old George, 10-year-old Charlotte and 7-year-old Louis could get their royal titles at school if they wanted, but it’s said to be something they’ve never done before.
This could possibly be a result of William and Kate wanting their children to have as ordinary a childhood as possible before education and lifelong royal duty. It was reportedly her children’s desire to have an ordinary life that inspired the family to move from London to Windsor three years ago, where the children could have more privacy away from the spotlight.
