The Paris prosecutor also says she’ll investigate the case as an inside job.
One of the chief investigators said there was “little hope” of recovering $102 million worth of jewels stolen from the Louvre on October 19. Paris prosecutor Laure Beccuau, who is prosecuting the case, told Ouest-France on Thursday that she felt “optimistic” about the investigation. “The media coverage of this organized robbery gives me a small hope that the perpetrators will not dare move too far with the jewels and therefore if we act quickly we can find them,” the 65-year-old prosecutor said. “I want to be optimistic.”
