The reach of climate change encircles the world

People’s right to know
I am entitled to the react of the taxpayers’ money ″ ″ (16/7) with the Editorial ″ Silence. Expressions like ″ ⁣victorians have a basic right to know. To store such a large amount of money, to treat them with despise.
A guidance hearing for the suburban railway cycle zones will be held this week and publicly open hearings will be held in September and October, but the state government has not yet summarized how the project would be financed. Only one -third of financing is determined and this is from the government government. The details of federal financing and capturing value have not yet been explained to the public. This year, the infrastructure of Australia found that the state government’s work case for the project was not detailed enough and that it was based on future stages to justify its benefits.
Transparency and accountability are very important for gaining and maintaining public confidence.

Not always the best
In the mid -1970s, when the banks took off the bankshane, I started a wine bar/restaurant in Sydney. The public increased the card concept enthusiastically. It quickly became a vital necessity for trade.
Banks made a 5 percent discount at the summit of each transaction. The contract explicitly banned any additional fees under the scheme threat.
Recently, I talked to a owner of a Chinese import variety of imports about one point about something, I think he said that his bank has bought it now. When most transactions were done by the card, there were not many problems with the cash economy.
The officer did not have to keep it big until he swim with the security problems.
The cash ranking did not have to fill the deposit book, walk to the bank, wait in a queue, stop and control the money while counting a cashier and walk back to the store.
He didn’t have to cope with a bank run in open hours, so he didn’t have to briefly close the shop to employ an official or to close the shop. After a little thinking, he agreed.
The small percentage is cheaper than the labor and time of the ″ ″old ″ system.

Rear seat driving
As a regular car passenger, as long as the vehicle slows down, I do not prefer for both feet (letters, 18/7). In fact, I used both feet at the same time, but I am a poor rear seat driver.

Mining common wealth
Age Editorial (19/7) lists the exports of iron ore to China as $ 121 billion. Instead of going to major mining companies, imagine what we can do as a nation with profit?

Do not reduce the voting age
The proposal for giving to the 16-year-olds is for the monitoring of the Oy (″ ″senator, British survey movement ⁣, 19/7). Voting is not a gift, it is a right to be used wisely. Too many people died to defend this right, and in many countries are not existed or not effective. As a retired and probably a cynical teacher, I taught students who are not yet ready for this opportunity. It is probably best to leave it until the age of 18.

Smartten up, PM
I think the Prime Minister dressed himself (letters, 19/7) – A AFL shirt and a lover of Rabbitohs during his visit to China. It looked a little miserable and triggered the memories of the Australian coats, Speedos and Cronulla Sharks Clobber.
