‘The Suffering Must End’: Britain Joins France, PM Starmer Vows To Recognise Palestine At UN | World News

London/New York: The global map may change soon. And two of the most powerful nations of the West are preparing to redraw it. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced that the United Kingdom will recognize the Palestinian state in the September General Assembly session of the United Kingdom, unless he has taken concrete steps to stop his military campaign in Gaza and participate in a long -term peace process.
In the statement, France’s promise to do the same thing is that it can become a seismic diplomatic change in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Starmer confirmed that he had discussed the problem with US President Donald Trump only one day ago, “In Gaza, because of the disaster failure of help, very weak children to starve, we see images that will remain for a lifetime. The pain should end.” He said.
“Ultimately, the only way to end this human crisis is through a long -term settlement,” he said.

The announcement comes instantly because 255 British deputies, including 147 of Starmer’s own Labor Party, signed a letter that requested Palestine immediately recognizing Palestine.
The champion of Labor Sarah, the President of the International Development Election Committee and the organizer of the letter, described the recognition as a critical step to give the Britain to a long -term support for a two -state solution.
“This continues to be the only valid offer to provide permanent peace for the region,” the champion said.
Lammy reiterates PM on the UN
In the United Nations in New York, British Foreign Minister David Lammy has further forward the message.
“Let’s be clear: the rejection of the two state solution of the Netanyahu government is wrong. Morally wrong and strategically wrong. Therefore, he plans to recognize the Palestinian status when the UN General Assembly gathered in September,” he said.
The speech reiterated Starmer’s position. Israel would progress to be recognition unless real and observed steps on the way to increase.
Israel answers
The Israeli Foreign Ministry responded within a few hours and described the decision as a reward for Hamas.
“Following the French movement and internal political pressures of the British government, the British government creates an award for Hamas, and damages the efforts to obtain a framework for the release of cease -fire and hostages in Gaza,” he said.
Israel has constantly argued that the international recognition of the Palestinian state would strengthen Hamas and upset cease -fire negotiations without a security guarantee for the Israelis.
This week, Hamas negotiators stopped negotiations by showing the blockade and hunger in Gaza. Israel had previously issued negotiations for internal consultations in Qatar.
The United States withdrew his team, saying that Hamas did not act in good faith.
‘We are just trying to buy food’
In Washington, President Donald Trump received a more unstable tone. When Starmer’s statement was asked, he said that he had no “opinion ında about the Palestinian state.
“We will get a lot of money in the region, so they get some food. I think the European Union will put money for food. I hope, it will be distributed properly,” he said.
By pressing on Starmer’s stance, “I will not take a position.
However, the US State Department took a sharper attitude against the movement of France last week. “Recognition reflects an inefficient gesture model that only strengthens Hamas, encourages her ceasefire blocking and greatly reduces our diplomatic efforts.” He said.
Divided in England
When he returns to the United Kingdom, not everyone supports the dramatic change of the Prime Minister.
Conservative Opposition leader Kemi Badenoch hit the movement as “political stance in the worst way .. Social media post, “a Palestinian state will not bring hostages home, will not end the war and will not get help to Gaza,” he wrote.
Badenoch also said Starmer in the summer facility of the parliament to solve a political problem for the Labor Party ”.
Where diplomacy meets famine
As politics play in parliaments and catwalks, the human cost in Gaza continues to increase.
According to the Ministry of Health, led by Hamas, more than 60,000 Palestinians have been killed since Israel began in response to the Hamas attacks on October 7.
The UN -backed Food Security Organ says the lane is “the worst famine scenario is currently playing”.
Israel rejected restrictions on assistance by claiming that there is no hunger ”and that human access was allowed.
However, Starmer, reflecting several UN agencies, said that reality on earth tells a different story. “We need to see at least 500 aid trucks entering Gaza every day, Britain, British, food and medical equipment transfer has already begun, he added.
A Calculation Moment in the UN
About 140 countries already know the Palestinian state. Spain, Ireland and Norway officialized last year. Now, the two permanent members of the UN Security Council, France and the United Kingdom are preparing to do the same.
President Emmanuel Macron confirmed that France would officially recognize Palestine in the UN session in September unless there was a dramatic change on the ground.
The War of Recognition in the United Nations may not end. However, the international stage will redraw the moral and political lines and form a difficult precedent to be taken back.
Countdown has begun to September. And there is a new section in the most lasting conflict in the world.
