‘The View’ Hosts Say Trump’s 180 on Releasing Epstein Files Is Pure PR: ‘Always Had the Ability’

President Trump made a statement Sudden 180 with publication of Epstein files I’ve been urging House Republicans in recent days to release them all. But the hosts of “The View” aren’t buying it; For them it’s just a PR move.

While discussing the move on Hot Topics of the Day, host Sunny Hostin reminded her fellow ABC hosts that “Trump always had the ability to release the Epstein files on his own.” Moderator Joy Behar – When she replaced Whoopi Goldberg Italy filming soap opera role – Hostin wondered the same thing when asked why he didn’t do it then.

“I have no idea. But remember, he could order the Justice Department to release the Epstein files without congressional authority and permission,” he repeated. “But he refused to do it. Why did he refuse to do it?”

Host Alyssa Farah Griffin largely agreed with Hostin, saying she didn’t believe Trump actually wanted to release the files.

“I’m not taking this 180 at all, I think this is PR,” Farah Griffin said. “I think he’s hearing from his MAGA base — who generally have their finger on the pulse of the things they care about — and realizing that this is getting out of control. He can’t convince them to not care about it.”

“But from Sunny’s perspective, he has the authority to order the Department of Justice to release everything they have,” he continued. “He doesn’t need this expungement petition, he doesn’t need a congressional vote. So some of his followers are saying, ‘Oh, no, see? He wants to release the files!’ “He hopes he says.”
