Morgan Wallen forgave Nate Smith for throwing drink at him on tour

Nate Smith got a little too relaxed while performing on stage with country star Morgan Wallen.
During a recent interview Billboard NewsThe 40-year-old musician said one of the things he learned about the “Last Night” singer while on tour with her was that “she’s a very forgiving person.”
“I may have thrown a drink at him on stage one of the nights during the tour. I might have done that. I might have done that,” he admitted. “Maybe. I thought I was trying to be funny, too, but it wasn’t funny. And Morgan forgave me. She forgave me.”
The singer admitted Wallen “should have kicked me off the tour” but said the two laughed about the situation together on FaceTime.

After apologizing, Wallen said he understood, explaining that he told him, “Man, I probably would have done the same thing or done the same thing.”
“He’s a very giving person. He has a lot of grace. He’s a good man,” Smith said. “He’s a good guy. A great guy. He’s literally a cup. A whole cup. I thought I was the funniest guy in the world.”
After the incident, Smith recalls receiving “lots of phone calls” and that “nobody was happy” with what he did on stage.
“Morgan, if you’re listening, I love you,” Smith said. “I’m still very sorry about that. Thank you for not pranking me, by the way. You had me thinking the whole tour that you were going to leave, but you didn’t. You held back because you’re a man who walks with grace. Thank you, sir.”

Wallen has had a rocky road since becoming a country music superstar. The “Whiskey Glass” singer was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct in Tennessee in April 2024 after he threw his chair near police officers from a rooftop bar in Nashville.
In April 2025, Wallen addressed the incident in an interview with Theo Von. “Last weekend” He says on his podcast that he hasn’t been to a bar “since I went to a bar that everyone knows.”
He also talked about the downsides of fame, explaining: “There are parts of fame. [fame] I don’t like this.”

“It’s not ideal to go everywhere, and even if you weren’t disturbed, you were always nervous because you thought you could go,” he said. “There are things you don’t do. There are things you don’t do anymore.”

“I can go to my friends, I’m in the middle of nowhere. I can be comfortable,” he added. “I can’t stress. I guess you just find ways to make it through, you know?”
