The Weapon That Killed Khamenei

The alleged killing of Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has become the most discussed incident amid the ongoing West Asian conflict. The missile that killed Khamenei came from above, from space. A highly advanced missile weapon, the Blue Sparrow is capable of flying all the way into space before diving into its target at extremely high speed.
The missile targeted the heavily guarded compound in Tehran where Khamenei was reportedly located with his military commanders. The Blue Sparrow missile, launched from an F-15 aircraft, hit the compound with extreme precision, reportedly also killing Iranian officials and members of Khamenei’s family.
Blue Sparrow is an Israeli air-launched ballistic missile developed by the Rafael Advanced Defense system. The missile weighs 2 tons, has a height of approximately 6.5 meters and a target range of 2 thousand kilometers. The missile was launched by an F-15 jet plane. The missile belongs to the Sparrow missile family, which also includes other missiles such as the Black Sparrow and Silver Sparrow variants. Initially, these missiles were created for testing purposes, but later they evolved into offensive combat weapons.
The fighter jet launches the rocket from high altitude, accelerating it towards the edge of the earth’s atmosphere. The missile follows a semi-ballistic trajectory and then falls vertically to the ground at a very high speed, making it difficult for air defense systems to intervene.
It is stated that after the attack, missile remnants believed to belong to the Blue Sparrow were found on the attack route in Iraq.
The killing of Iran’s supreme leader has sparked tremendous geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, with many countries in the region on high military alert as Iran continues to launch retaliatory missile and drone attacks on nearby US and Israeli bases.
