Prince Harry ‘wants more UK family visits’ if he can secure taxpayer-funded security

Prince Harry will reportedly continue his taxpayer-funded safety campaign in the UK in the hope he can visit more with his family.
The Duke of Sussex lost his appeal against the High Court’s dismissal of his case against the Home Office last year after the Steering Committee for the Protection of Royal Family and Public Personalities (Ravec) ruled that he should receive a reduced level of security protection while in the country.
But following a recent visit to England for a series of Invictus Games events, where he reunited his father King Charles and his family, Harry is reportedly determined to resume arrangements once again.

Mirror Sources suggested he was considering holding more meetings with the King to allow the Sussexes to spend more time with their grandchildren, who have hardly visited the UK since moving to the US in 2020, while also lobbying the Home Secretary for security.
The family was reunited earlier this month when Harry, Meghan and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, met the king and Queen Camilla at Highgrove House, a country estate in west London.
But the reunion was overshadowed by reports that the King’s offer to stay at Buckingham Palace was “withdrawn at the last moment”.

Buckingham Palace stated that appropriate hospitality and staffing was no longer available. But the decision reportedly meant that Meghan and the couple’s children had to cancel plans to attend the visit and were only able to arrive after flying from Europe.
The duke has previously argued that his children “couldn’t feel at home” in the UK if “it wasn’t possible to keep them safe” and that he had been “selected” for “bad treatment” because his safety, security and life were “at risk”.
But the Home Office, which is legally responsible for Ravec’s decisions, opposed Harry’s appeal, with his lawyers telling the court the decision was made in “unique circumstances” and there was “no appropriate basis” to challenge it.
He will return to England for the Invictus Games in Birmingham next year and is said to be hopeful his family will be able to accompany him. He is currently making his own security arrangements while visiting the UK.
The Duke of Sussex has been contacted for comment.
