Discoms reach out to 83 lakh power consumers personally with Deputy CM’s message

HYDERABAD
Two power distribution companies of the state – Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited (TGSPDCL) and Northern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited (TGNPDCL) – have launched an innovative initiative to strengthen direct interaction with electricity consumers.
Under the initiative, letters containing New Year and Sankranti festival greetings from Deputy Chief Minister M. Bhatti Vikramarka, who also holds the Energy portfolio, are being delivered to Gruha Jyothi scheme beneficiaries and agricultural consumers.
These letters, which bear the consumer’s name and service connection number and are sent to a personal address, are delivered directly to consumers at their residences by TGSPDCL and TGNPPDCL officials. Letters are being sent to a total of 52,82,498 Gruha Jyothi beneficiaries and 30,03,813 agri-energy consumers.
Officials stated that the initiative will help establish direct interaction between consumers and department officials, thus facilitating more transparent, efficient and improved service delivery in the future. Many consumers expressed their joy at receiving a personalized congratulatory letter from the Deputy Prime Minister.
