TV royal expert Kinsey Schofield addressed Princess Anne’s remarks about the Duchess of Sussex following an important meeting. The commentator spoke with biographer Tom Bower during his show Crown and Conflict on Friday, March 27. The pair discussed the Princess Royal’s close ties to Prince Harry and allegedly confessed to a friend in London how she really felt about her niece’s fiancée, Meghan Markle.
Kinsey elaborated on her bombshell reaction: “I’ve never heard of that before.” He continued: “While Princess Anne was in London, she predicted exactly what would happen to a friend.”
The US commentator continued: “Meghan, [Anne] ‘He was caught up in red carpet excitement,’ he said. “It seemed like nothing could deter his quest for the spotlight.”
“Wow…what a great prediction from our favorite royal family.” he added.
Bower’s comments come after he previously shared that Meghan was given a proper briefing by a senior Palace official ahead of the royal wedding in 2018. After the meeting, the official met with Queen Elizabeth II. He informed Elizabeth that Meghan would “cause trouble” and was unlikely to remain in the royal family.
In excerpts from his book Betrayal, published externally by the Times on Friday, Bower also claimed that a friend of Queen Camilla’s told him Meghan was “brainwashing” Prince Harry.
It also writes that Meghan has become a “divisive agent” and is seen as a “threat” by the Prince of Wales and Catherine, Princess of Wales.
A spokesman for Prince Harry and Meghan said Bower “has already crossed the line from criticism to obsession.”
They said in a statement: “This is someone who has publicly stated ‘the monarchy is essentially committed to erasing the Sussexes from our state of life’ in language that speaks for itself.”
“He has made a career out of building increasingly elaborate theories about people he doesn’t know and has never met.
“Those interested in facts will look elsewhere; those looking for deranged plotting and melodrama know exactly where to find it.”
Harry and Meghan stepped down as senior royals in 2020.
