King Charles makes trip to world’s oldest person after saying goodbye to Donald Trump

King Charles paid a special visit to Ethel Caterham, the oldest person in the world, and entertained him with his memories of “how all girls fell in love with you and want to marry you”.
Monarch traveled on Thursday to see the 116 -year -old Mrs. Caterham at a nursing home in Lightwater in Surrey, shortly after saying goodbye to US President Donald Trump in Windsor.
Mrs. Caterham became the oldest person in April after the death of Brazilian nun sister Inah Canabarro Lucas.
He quietly chose to celebrate his last birthday quietly with his family in August – but it turned out that he would make a concession for the king at that time. Monarch had to travel to see him personally just a few weeks later. Charles took his hand while introducing Mrs. Caterham’s hand.
Later, while the gold fur lined sequined slippers, patterned sage dress and a pale pink shawl, sitting on a sofa next to Mrs. Caterham, the king listened carefully as she said: “I remember your mother crowned you at Caernarfon Castle.”
At the age of 21, the king was pleased to remember his 1969 investment as a prince of Wales, saying, “Oh yes, and added to others in the room:“ You see, fascinating ”.
Mrs. Caterham continued: “And all the girls were in love with you and wanted to marry you.”
The statement raised a hearty laughter and eyebrows from the king.
Kate Henderson, one of the grandchildren of Mrs. Caterham, added: mı Wasn’t you the other day?
“‘Prince Charles was very handsome. All the girls were in love with him.’
Charles, who responded with a fun face grimace, said: “Yes, it is still all that is left of it.”
The couple also spoke about the fond memories of a Buckingham Palace Garden Party, attended by Mrs. Caterham in the 1960s.
On the table between the chairs, there was a framed, signed letter from Charles and Camilla, the previous birthday card from the chairs, a framed, signed letter from the late Queen Elizabeth II and the King’s 116th birthday.
The cards were only one of the 17 people from both the king and the late Queen Elizabeth II to mark their birthdays since the age of 100, including one of the centenary years.
In 2023, Mrs. Caterham took part in the official Instagram of the monarchy for receiving a card from the King in the Post to mark his 114th birthday.
His three grandchildren Kate, Julia Pauling and Lucy Robinson attended him.
Ms. Caterham was born on August 21, 1909 five years before the beginning of the First World War, Hampshire was born in Shipton Bellinger as the second youngest of eight brothers.
Edward VII, who died in May 1910, is the last survivor.
In 1927, he went to India at the age of 18 and worked as an AU couple for a military family until the age of 21.
He met his husband Norman, who was a lieutenant colonel in the British army and died in a dinner party in 1931 in 1931.
Before they were placed in Gibraltar and Hong Kong, they lived in Salisbury, and Mrs. Caterham founded a kindergarten in Hong Kong, and both of them raised two daughters who died before him.
Gladys, one of his sisters, lived at the age of 104.
Ms. Caterham lasted until the age of 97 and played a bridge of contract in the centenary years. At the age of 110, he survived Covid in 2020.
According to Guinness World Records, the title of the oldest person so far is held by the French woman Jeanne Calment, who lived up to 122 years and 164 days.
