Karnataka bags award for highest under-construction wind capacity
Karnataka Energy Minister KJ George said the national award for having the highest wind capacity under construction in 2024-25 is a testament to the State’s commitment to clean energy and sustainable development.
Karnataka won the national award for having the highest wind capacity under construction in 2024-25. The award was presented at the seventh edition of Windergy India 2025, the country’s flagship wind energy event, held in Chennai.
MLA and Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL) chairman TD Raje Gowda and KREDL managing director KP Rudrappaiah received the award from Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi.
Inaugurating the Karnataka pavilion, Mr. Joshi praised the State’s progressive renewable energy policies and said: “When government and industry come together, we can achieve remarkable milestones in the renewable energy sector. This reflects the power of partnerships to drive innovation, increase capacity and build a sustainable future for our country.”
