Three dead in horror crash at Adelaide Hills black spot

Three people have died and two others have been seriously injured following a horrific crash in the Adelaide Hills.

Emergency services were called at around 1.40pm on Tuesday following a collision between a truck and a Toyota sedan.

The incident happened at the junction of Warren Rd and Lucky Hit Rd in Birdwood in the Adelaide Hills.

In the shocking incident, a truck carrying 5 people collided with a Toyota.

3 of the passengers died at the scene.

While the driver of the Toyota and a fourth passenger were taken to the hospital in the accident, the driver suffered life-threatening injuries.

The truck driver escaped the tragedy unscathed and is assisting police with investigations.

Roads in the region were closed for hours while investigations continued.

The three victims became the 24th, 25th and 26th people to die on South Australian roads in 2026; There is a death almost every three days.

Eyewitnesses claimed that the accident occurred after the Toyota left the intersection and entered the path of the truck.

Michael Bell, who lives nearby, told the Advertiser: “Unfortunately the car was T-boned. The lorry hit the roundabout and the car was thrown onto the left side of the road towards Williamstown.”
