Three women killed in separate wall collapses in Cuddalore and Kallakurichi districts

Three women, including a mother-daughter duo, lost their lives in two separate wall collapses that occurred in Cuddalore and Kallakurichi districts on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.

Police said Ashothai, 69, and his daughter Jaya, 40, died when a section of the wall of their house at Andarmullipallam near Puduchatram in Cuddalore district collapsed on them. Two of them were agricultural workers.

According to police, the wall collapsed due to heavy rain overnight. By around 10 a.m. the walls had weakened and collapsed. The bodies were recovered and sent to Parangipettai General Hospital for post-mortem.

In a similar incident, a 60-year-old woman died after the wall of her house in Kongarapalayam near Kallakurichi collapsed on Wednesday morning. The victim was identified as Vanamayili.
