Water Tankers Demand Rises, so Do Concerns

Haydarabad: As the water demand increases and the supply is insufficient in various parts of Haydarabad, the increasing number of households and hostels turn to special water tankers to meet their daily needs. Although many calm water is often used, concerns about its source and quality continue.
Mash Redy, who lives in Ameenpur, said that they trusted special tankers for about 20 percent of their daily water needs. “We get about 80 percent of regular supply. We are not sure of real purity because we mix both sources. We observed some scaling, but so far there is no significant problem.”
In Kukatpally, Sai Teja shared that they are completely connected to private tankers. “Most of the tankers attract water from the drilling near the agricultural land. The water is salty and hard. Our Geyser was damaged by salt accumulation,” he said.
Old City residents reiterated similar concerns. Muhammad Ahmed from Shalibanda said, “We use tanker juice regularly, but we do not know where it comes from or how clean the tankers are. There is no clarity about maintenance or hygiene.” He said. Some inhabitants, while the tanker juice could be passed, he once did not comply with the quality they had, he said. Y. Raghuram Rao of Nizampet said, “Water can be used, but it cannot be compared with manjeera water. We manage with what we receive.”
In addition to settlement areas, hostels are among the largest consumers of private tanker water. Venkateshwara, who runs a special hostel in Gachibowli, said his supply came from Kokanet Borewells. Most of the tankers provide clean water. We only get poor quality water from time to time. ”
T. Lakshmi, who manages a female pension in the same region, said that they were trying to book the tankers from the Haydarabad metropolis and the sewage board (HMWS & SB) tankers, but often faced with cancellations. “They claim that we do not respond to their calls. So we trust private tankers. Fortunately, quality is acceptable,” he said.
Special suppliers also shared details about their operations. Tarnaka, Habsiguda and UPPAL’a AVR water tanker supply, mostly serving construction sites, he said. “We are getting water from agricultural drillings,” one representative said. Habeeb Basha, a small -scale operator in Himayatnagar and Narayanaguda, said his supply came from Balapur Borewells. “Our water is good and we have never received any complaints,” he said.
HK Water suppliers, a large -scale operator who deals with both the government and special orders, said that they provide water directly from the water board. “The water we provide is clean and safe,” a spokesman said. Despite increasing dependence, many calm daily consumed water is uncertain about the treatment and real quality of the water they consume.
