Next month the Masters will once again open golf’s main season.
Barring any injury issues, Tiger Woods could attempt to chase a 16th major championship on the hallowed grounds of Augusta National Golf Club.
In February, the 15-time major winner stated that he had not ruled out playing in this year’s Masters.
Woods’ storied career was derailed by a long list of injuries and subsequent surgeries. Back problems began to plague the golf icon in recent years. Woods had a seventh back surgery last fall.

Fellow golfer Will Zalatoris underwent disc replacement surgery in 2025.
“[Zalatoris] passed through. “He had two levels done and it takes time,” the 50-year-old said. “Like I said, I had a lot of procedures before this, so my body isn’t healing as fully as it did when I was 24.”

Woods told reporters he “tried to come back, but it didn’t work out that way.” The five-time Masters champion also acknowledged his injury history, saying: “I had some really bad injuries last year… and then I had two back surgeries, so it’s been a bit of a challenge.”
Woods made the cut at the 2025 Masters but missed the cut in the next three majors last season.
