TikTok framework deal reached between US, China
The US and China have reached a framework agreement to change the short video application Tiktok to the US controlled property.
Authorities said on Monday that President Donald Trump started to talk to Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday.
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer announced the agreement after a meeting between the senior US and Chinese officials in Madrid, but refused to give any of the commercial conditions of the agreement.
Bessent told journalists, said more details will be determined in a call between Trump and Xi on Friday.
In a statement on Monday, Trump implied that trade negotiations with China went very well and an agreement was reached to solve the US problems on Tiktok ownership.

In the early hours of Monday, a US official who had knowledge of negotiations said he would lean on Tiktok if he did not reduce his demands for tariffs and technological restrictions as part of the US -disposal agreement.
The US and Chinese delegations came together to discuss the disposal of Tiktok by the Chinese owner Baytansı within the scope of broader talks on the tariffs and economic policy in Madrid. Tiktok is being closed in the United States on 17 September unless the US ownership is owned.
Speaking to journalists earlier, Bessent and Greer said he wanted concessions on trade and technology in exchange for agreed to disposal from China’s popular social media application.
“Our Chinese colleagues came with a very aggressive question, Bes Bessent said,“ We are not willing to sacrifice national security for a social media application. ”
