Man arrested after Heathrow Airport pepper spray attack

Police in London arrested a man after he attacked a group of people with pepper spray in the car park of Heathrow Airport.
Authorities said ambulance crews treated 21 people at the scene and five people were taken to hospital, although their injuries were not believed to be serious.
The Metropolitan Police said the incident at the Terminal 3 garage followed an argument between two groups of people who knew each other.

It was not investigated as terrorism.
One person was detained on suspicion of assault.
Police are looking for other suspects who left the scene.

The incident, which occurred around 08:00 in the morning, caused passengers using the terminal to be delayed for hours.
A statement on X said Heathrow Airport teams also responded to the incident, advising passengers to allow extra time when traveling to the airport and to check with their airline with any questions.
