Met Office issues yellow weather warnings ahead of another wet weekend

The Met Office has issued several yellow weather warnings in parts of England this weekend.
Showers of up to 100mm will hit the north of England this weekend as the Met Office has issued a series of yellow weather warnings for rain.
Forecasters warned that heavy rain could cause travel disruptions and some flooding.
A yellow weather warning for rain will be in effect from 15:00 on Saturday until 18:00 on Sunday. The warning extends from north Yorkshire to Lancashire and Northumberland.
A further yellow warning has also been issued for south-west Scotland, where up to 80mm of rain is expected in higher elevations, with strong winds expected at times. The warning is valid from noon on Saturday until 18:00 on Sunday.
Parts of Wales will also see heavy rain on Sunday, with up to 100mm expected in some higher elevations. The Met Office issued a yellow warning from 12pm until midnight on Sunday covering Ceredigion, Conwy, Denbighshire, Gwynedd and Powys.
Heavy rain can cause flooding on roads and disrupt transport. The forecaster also warned that this could also lead to outages in power supplies and flooding of homes and businesses.
Residents of areas under a yellow rain warning are advised to prepare a flood kit containing insurance and other important documents, a flashlight and spare batteries, a first aid kit and prescription medications.
The Met Office said the kit should also include items to care for family members or pets, as well as warm and waterproof clothing, blankets, food and water.
It comes after the Met Office issued a “danger to life” warning for parts of Wales and south-west England as Storm Bram hit England with heavy rain and strong winds.
UK weather forecast
Today:
It often dries out at first with bright or sunny spells. Cloudiness increases during the day and rain falls across Northern Ireland and central and western parts of Scotland. There will then be some rain in Wales and Western England. A mild but quite windy day.
Tonight:
Early open spells in the northeast. More cloudy and occasionally rainy in other places. Heavy rain that will affect from west to east throughout the night. Clearer in the northwest with fog and frost later. The wind is getting lighter.
Friday:
Rain will gradually ease from the west across England and Wales, but will remain damp in the south-east. Otherwise plenty of sunshine and intermittent showers in the northwest. I feel fresher.
From Saturday to Monday:
After a cool start on Saturday, increasingly rainy and windy weather will affect all parts of the world from the west. Then rain and strong winds. Probably the wettest region in the west.
