Nostradamus’s chilling predictions for 2026 | Weird | News

16th-century astrologer Michel de Nostredame, better known as Nostradamus, is said to have predicted troubling world events for 2026, including political turmoil and a renewed conflict between East and West, the Daily Mail reports.
But it’s not all doom and gloom, as the French philosopher’s predictions also point to a potential period of rebirth and a new approach to the world.
Nostradamus, whose book “Les Propheties” was published in 1555, is said to have predicted major world events such as September 11, the death of Princess Diana, the dropping of atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and most recently, the spread of Covid-19. Its text, which contains 942 prophecies in the form of poetry, is written in a mixture of obscure Latin expressions and old French, making it difficult to decipher.
The rise of the ‘big bee swarm’
One of the Nostradamus passages marked I:26 says: “The great swarm of bees will appear… to ambush in the night…” Many people believe that bees symbolize powerful figures; Donald Trump or Vladimir Putin, who may enjoy victories next year. This could potentially point to Trump’s deal on Gaza or a possible Russian victory over Ukraine.
Ticino ‘will be flooded with blood’
Another verse, written in standard French, reads: “Because of the kindness the city will show… Ticino will be overflowing with blood…” Ticino, the southernmost region of Switzerland, is known for its forests, lakes and glaciers. Although the exact meaning of this geographically specific verse is unclear, some theories suggest that Nostradamus was referring to a renewed European conflict, possibly between neighbors, since Ticino borders northern Italy.
Nostradamus’s quatrain “Seven months of great war, men dying of evil / Rouen, King Evreux will not fail” has been interpreted as another conflict led by two stubborn leaders who felt they could not fail. This may be linked to Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky, or Donald Trump as he is called “King Donald,” who is still seeking support to repel Russia.
Mars guides its way among the stars
The astrologer also wrote: “When Mars rules his path among the stars, the sanctuary will be sprinkled with human blood. Three fires rise from the eastern sides, while the West silently loses its light.” Since Mars is the ancient Roman god of war, this prediction suggests that 2026 will be another conflict-filled year, with much suffering and potential war between Western Europe and Asia.
The rise of artificial intelligence and the West losing its ‘light in silence’
Some believe Nostradamus’ prediction that the West would lose its “light in silence” may be linked to the rise of artificial intelligence in countries such as China and Japan. As these countries develop artificial intelligence, fears are growing that robots could take over jobs, potentially causing economic hardship in the West.
Despite grim predictions, Nostradamus ended his 2026 prophecies on a positive note, writing: “Shadows will fall, but the man of light will rise. And the stars will guide those who look within.” This suggests that after crises of war and fire, there may be a period of rebirth and a new leader or approach to the world, possibly involving a changing world order or a shift away from technology and towards greater human connections.
