Top crime family suspect arrested at Italian resort

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni congratulated police on the arrest of an alleged crime boss and one of Italy’s most wanted fugitives at a luxury resort.
Authorities announced the arrest of 48-year-old Roberto Mazzarella following a raid on a villa on Italy’s southern Amalfi Coast on Friday.
He allegedly tried to use forged documents to rent the luxury beachfront property.
Meloni, who toured the Gulf countries, called Mazzarella’s arrest “a significant blow against the Camorra”, referring to the notorious criminal organization that emerged in Naples.
“This sends a clear message that the state will not back down,” Meloni said in an online post.
Mazzarella is wanted in connection with a deadly 2000 shooting at a delicatessen in central Naples.
