Alert Residents Nab Financier for Snatching Gold Chain in Shankarpally

Neighborhood residents handed over 45-year-old financier Vasu to the police after he beat him for snatching a gold chain weighing 35 grams from a woman named Sunitha at her home in Bhavaninagar. Shankarpally Detective Inspector Loka Samaram Reddy said that the stolen gold chain was recovered after Vasu was arrested in connection with the case.

Vasu and Sunitha reside in the same area, Reddy said. Vasu, who hails from Sangareddy, came to Bhavaninagar and lived in a rented house with his family when he was facing financial losses in his monthly chits business.

Since he was not only suffering from kidney ailments but also financial problems, he decided to steal a gold chain from Sunitha. Seeing that she was alone at home, Vasu entered Sunitha’s house wearing a money hat and sprinkled chilli powder on her.

He resisted when she tried to snatch his gold chain. He then smashed his head with a cricket bat and stole the chain. Vasu raised an alarm while running away from home. Hearing his screams, other residents caught him and beat him up nearby, not realizing that he was Vasu as he was wearing a monkey hat.

Detective Inspector said Sunitha suffered head injuries after Vasu attacked her with a stick. However, he added that his condition was stable.
