Top magazine chief orders staff ‘to go easy’ on Beatrice and Eugenie | Royal | News

A senior magazine chief warned his employees Giving positive news to Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. Mark Guiducci, global editor-in-chief of Vanity Fair, reportedly objected to Andrew Mountbatten Windsor mentioning his daughters in a story about his ties to the late Jeffrey Epstein.

The New York Post reported The news site Semaphore said Guiducci “wanted to know whether it was relevant to include women in a piece about their fathers.” The Vanity Fair article about Andrew, which appeared in the magazine’s September issue, “only mentioned princesses” after Guiducci’s intervention.

A Vanity Fair spokesperson told the NY Post: “The references to Beatrice and Eugenie in the sketch are the same as those published and still published on VF.com. Nothing has changed.”

Giuducci was promoted from his previous role as creative director at Vogue, another Condé Nast property.

According to Semaphore, under Guiducci, Vanity Fair has taken a “more respectful” stance toward celebrities, especially given the fact that the publication’s business model relies on access to A-list stars for content in this age of media fragmentation.

Former prince Andrew will now be known simply as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor and is losing his last honorary military title. It was also recently removed from the official website of the UK monarchy.

The moves follow the late Virginia Giuffre’s recently published memoir, which details allegations of abuse by Mountbatten Windsor, allegations the former prince has always denied.

The daughters of Andrew Mountbatten Windsor and Sarah Ferguson have undoubtedly faced a tough few weeks due to the scandals surrounding their parents and their previous relationship with the late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

These scandals resulted in Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah being largely disowned by the Royal Family, who formally stripped Andrew of his honors and titles and evicted the divorced couple from their home in the Royal Lodge. While this is the case for Andrew and Sarah, Princess Beatrice, 37, and Princess Eugenie, 35, have managed to retain their princess titles and are not believed to be losing the title any time soon.

As Beatrice and Eugenie are the daughters of a monarch’s son, they will retain their dignity in line with King George V’s 1917 Letters Patent.
