NBA news: Shaedon Sharpe puts Russell Westbrook on poster

Portland Trail Blazers guard Shaedon Sharpe made a name for himself against the Sacramento Kings on Saturday night.

Portland took the lead by three points in the fourth quarter. Sharpe took the ball from the corner, dribbled and attacked the basket. Kings guard Russell Westbrook came to the rescue and tried to take over the offense.

Instead, Sharpe jumped over Westbrook for one of the best dunks of the NBA season so far. He posed for the cameras and stretched before running back onto the field.

Sharpe shot 10/19 with 23 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists.

Portland selected Sharpe 7th overall in Kentucky’s 2022 draft. This season he is averaging 22 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.

Portland won the game 98-93. Deni Avdija led the team with 24 points, 10 assists and 7 rebounds. Toumani Camara scored 15 points and Donovan Clingan had 14 points and 14 rebounds.

The Trail Blazers swept the home-and-home series with the win. Portland improved to 12-16 on the season.

Sacramento’s dismal season continued with defeat. The Kings are 6-22 on the season as trade rumors swirl around some of their best players, including DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine.
