Toronto Police identify victim of fatal East York stabbing

17-year-old boy has been charged with second-degree murder after arrest made at scene

Police have identified the victim in Tuesday’s fatal stabbing in East York as Dwight Langille, 34.

Toronto Police arrested a suspect after responding to the stabbing in the Woodbine Ave.-O’Connor Dr. area around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The victim was found suffering from significant injuries and was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A boy who can’t be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act was arrested at the scene. The 17-year-old from Toronto has been charged with second-degree murder.
It was Toronto’s 25th homicide of 2025.

COPS PROBING 2 DEATHS IN WHITBY
Police are investigating after a woman and a man were found dead in a Whitby residence.
Durham Regional Police said they responded Aug. 6 to a home in the Fallingbrook St.-Taunton Rd. area for a sudden death call.
Cops arrived on scene where two people — a 62-year-old woman and a 51-year-old man — were pronounced dead.
Whitby Fire Services conducted tests for environmental hazards and the area was deemed safe.
In addition to the two fatalities, two people were transported to a local hospital. A post-mortem examination was conducted on the two deceased parties.
“At this time, the investigation remains ongoing and investigators believe there is no threat to public safety,” Durham police said in a news release issued Wednesday afternoon.

SUSPECT SOUGHT AFTER TTC SEX ASSAULT
Police are looking to identify a suspect wanted for a sexual assault on a TTC bus earlier this month in Etobicoke.
Toronto Police said that on Aug. 3 at 8:59 p.m., the victim and a man were on board a TTC bus when the man allegedly sexually assaulted the victim.
The man was last seen exiting the bus in the Islington Ave.-Fenley Dr. area with a bike.
He is 25-35 years old and about 5-foot-9 with a medium build, short black hair and a beard. He was wearing a beige shirt, beige pants and beige shoes.
