Tottenham: Club in ‘doomsday scenario’ and being hit by ‘blow after blow’, says Micky Van de Ven

Former Juventus and Marseille boss Tudor’s appointment as interim head coach in February followed the sacking of Thomas Frank after less than eight months in charge, but has yet to have the desired impact of lifting the team back to its feet.

With Spurs sitting 16th in the Premier League and just one point clear of last-placed West Ham, the top priority for the rest of the season will be to avoid relegation for the first time since 1977.

They return to domestic duty to defend league champions Liverpool on Sunday, while their crucial home match against relegation rivals Nottingham Forest on March 22 will be followed by a return leg against Atletico Madrid next Wednesday.

Van de Ven, who received a red card in the 3-1 home defeat against Crystal Palace last Thursday, will miss the Liverpool match, and said, “We are receiving blow after blow at the moment.”

“It’s really difficult and now we have an important game this weekend and I won’t be able to play because I’m suspended.

“It’s a really terrible time, I can tell you that. It really is terrible.”

Van de Ven said he no longer checks his phone due to the club’s dire situation.

The 24-year-old actress added, “I’m not interested in my phone anymore. This is completely over. It’s just my family, so it won’t be a problem.”

“It’s challenging, really challenging. I’ve got to keep going. It’s part of it, that’s life and we’ll see what happens.”
