Trade Body Backs Telangana Budget, Flags GST And MSME Concerns

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Commerce on Friday described the state budget as a forward-looking plan while also flagging concerns affecting the business community.

Federation president Prakash Ammanabolu said the budget presented by Prime Minister A. Revanth Reddy draws a roadmap for growth focused on education, skill development and employment generation.

He said investments in education and skills will increase employability, while measures aimed at job creation and infrastructure development will support economic growth and attract investments.

It also highlighted issues faced by investors, including complexities around GST compliance and delays in refunds.

He also pointed out the pending subsidies and incentives for MSMEs, stating that early approval will increase liquidity and business confidence.

Ammanabolu said access to affordable working capital remains a concern for small and medium-sized traders, along with increasing operational costs such as electricity tariffs and logistics expenses.

It called for the development of trading infrastructure, including wholesale markets, storage and transportation systems, and expressed concerns about competition from e-commerce platforms.

The federation said it expects the government to address these issues to improve the ease of doing business and promote balanced growth.
