Shell’s Tax Dodge, Albo’s Gas Spin and Ken Henry’s Blast | Scam of the Week
We are in the biggest heist and media/political profit racket in Australia today. Shell’s Australian boss this week led a parliamentary inquiry into gas and somehow failed to say how much revenue his company made or how much Australian gas it exported. Meanwhile, Ken Henry, one of the country’s most respected tax experts, told the same inquiry to “just do it” and “stop the nonsense” on taxing Australia’s limited natural resources.
The gas lobby has spent years convincing politicians, the media and the public that foreign multinationals should continue to export Australian gas while paying little income tax and royalty fees. Now they are making super profits thanks to the US/Israeli war on Iran.
