Tragedy as pregnant woman and her baby die in horror crash | UK | News

Police have confirmed the name of a pregnant woman who died after a two-car crash in Northern Ireland on Sunday (January 11). The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said Cathrene Kith Quiñones Singco died following the collision near Nutts Corner in Crumlin.
Detective Inspector Stewart, of the Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Sadly we can confirm that Cathrene was pregnant and her baby died as a result of the collision. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this time. We are investigating what happened and need the public’s help with our inquiries.” 8 people were hospitalized after the accident on Sunday afternoon. Cathrene was a backseat passenger and died in hospital from her injuries. A man in his 30s, who was a passenger in the same vehicle, was also seriously injured. Many people were slightly injured in the collision.
A spokesman for the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said: “NIAS received a call on 999 at 2.05pm on Sunday 11 January following reports of a road traffic accident in the Moria Road area of Crumlin.
“NIAS dispatched six emergency ambulances, three ambulance officers, two HART Teams and Charity Air Ambulance with HEMS was also deployed to the scene.
“Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, four patients were taken by ambulance to Antrim Regional Hospital, while a further four patients were taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast, three by ambulance and one by Air Ambulance.”
