Two people were tragically killed and four others were taken to hospital with serious injuries after a fatal two-vehicle collision outside a busy tunnel on the A3 at Hindhead. While the driver of one of the vehicles, a man in his 20s, died at the scene, a woman and four other young people were hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of one of the vehicles, a woman in her 30s, died following the crash in Surrey on Tuesday evening (March 3). Surrey Police said his family was aware of the situation and was being supported by specialist police officers. All four seriously injured men in their twenties are in hospital.

The collision occurred just before 6.30pm on the A3 at Hindhead, north of the Hindhead Tunnel, in an incident involving two vehicles: a black Ford Fiesta and a gray Ford Fiesta.
The black Fiesta was heading north on the A3. After exiting the tunnel, the vehicle passed the central containment area onto the southbound main road, where it collided with the gray Fiesta.
While emergency services responded to the accident, the road was closed to traffic in both directions throughout the night. Both main roads have since reopened.
