Trans dad’s second victim named as his engineer son, 23, who died beside mom during Rhode Island hockey game as younger son watched from the ice

A 23-year-old man was shot and killed by his transgender father at his younger brother’s high school hockey game in Rhode Island.
Aidan Dorgan, 23, was killed along with his mother, Rhonda, 52, Monday afternoon at Lynch Arena in Pawtucket, a few miles outside of Providence.
They were killed by Robert Dorgan, who goes by the name Roberta Esposito. 56-year-old Dorgan ended the attack by killing himself.
Aidan’s grandparents were among those injured in the attack. A GoFundMe page set up by Rhonda’s stepdaughter Amanda Wallace-Hubbard revealed they are currently in critical condition and fighting for their lives.
Rhonda’s youngest son, 17-year-old Colin Dorgan, watched the tragedy unfold from the ice, according to footage of the shooting.
Colin, captain of the Blackstone Valley Schools hockey team, can be seen sliding backwards as gunshots are heard on the field.
The striking defender, wearing jersey number 17, suddenly turned his head towards the source of the gunshots before quickly running off the ice.
Colin and his sister Ava, a 20-year-old nursing student, are grieving the loss of their mother and brother.

“The weight of this loss is something no one should have to endure, especially at such a young age,” Wallace-Hubbard wrote.
‘Despite the pain, Ava and Colin are determined to continue their education and build a life that honors the memory of our loved ones.’
The crowdfunding campaign raised nearly $13,000 in just two hours.
Donations will be used to support basic living expenses for now-orphaned Ava and Colin as they continue their education.
‘We are deeply grateful for the love and support from our friends, family and especially the hockey community. “Your kindness and generosity gave us strength and hope when we needed it most,” Wallace-Hubbard wrote.
‘Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being there for our family.’
Like his younger brother, Aidan was a standout hockey player. He played on the varsity team during his four years at North Providence High School, according to his NCSA College Recruiting profile.
Aidan, who graduated in 2021, served as captain of the team his senior year. The star athlete was also a lacrosse player and played on his high school’s youth football team for a year.
