Trans man sexually assaulted woman with a prosthetic penis in a hotel room on her birthday and ‘thrived’ when she tried to push him off, court hears

A trans man who sexually assaulted a woman with a prosthetic penis was ‘successful’ when she tried to push him away, a court heard.

The 19-year-old said it was During his two-year relationship with Zainab Jamshaid, he was repeatedly slapped, choked, punched and sexually assaulted.

Ms Jamshaid was born a woman but identified as male during their relationship.

The court heard the 20-year-old student, who re-identified as a woman, first attacked the alleged victim in a hotel room on his birthday and ignored her calls to stop.

In a video interview he said: ‘I had just gotten out of the shower. He started kissing me and touching me and stuff like that.

‘Then he started getting really sexually aggressive and rude. He grabbed me by my wrists and shoulders and started slapping my face.’

Ms Jamshaid was heard to have worn the prosthesis, a device specifically designed for transgender men, almost all the time throughout their relationship.

He said that at the beginning of their relationship, the couple agreed on pink, a ‘safe word’ they could use if they wanted sexual activities to stop.

The teenager told Hove Crown Court: ‘He started having sex with me and I said ‘No’ and he slapped me across the face five or six times. I said the safe word and he told me to shut up and slapped me across the face.’

He told the court that Ms Jamshaid wore a sling prosthesis throughout the alleged attack.

He said: ‘There was a penis strapped on inside me. When he got off he said: ‘I didn’t realize you were crying’, as if he hadn’t done that, as if it was my fault even though I told him over and over to get off me.’

This was one of four incidents in which the victim said she was assaulted by Ms Jamshaid.

He also claimed that he was repeatedly punched and slapped over two years.

She said: ‘He called me a whore, he called me a liar. If I dated people he didn’t like without him, it would affect our relationship. It would start to get worse. ‘He slapped me in the face.’

The second alleged attack took place in Brighton later that year.

He told the court: ‘It came out of nowhere. She immediately went to put it on and I said “Pink! No! Pink!” I said.

‘I was trying to get him off me. He liked it, he liked it when I tried to push him. I gave up because he didn’t listen to me.

‘Afterwards he got very angry at me and said, ‘You’re acting like I attacked you’ and I said, ‘You did.’

He thought I was trying to turn him into something he wasn’t. He was compelling. ‘That was the worst thing I’ve ever felt.’

She said Ms Jamshaid repeatedly slapped her, punched her and called her “bad names”.

The teenager was last allegedly attacked after breaking up with Ms Jamshaid in Brighton in February 2024.

The alleged victim had been out with friends but received a call from a housemate saying Ms Jamshaid was at her house.

When he returned home, he found Ms. Jamshaid had made a mess of her room, breaking her laptop, throwing her clothes around and breaking other items.

While Ms. Jamshaid was upset and in tears, the alleged victim said the student could sleep in a different room.

He said: ‘I said it was over. But he said, “It’s not over. You have no say in this. We’re together and this is the end.” He just said, “No, you’re mine.”

‘He was trying to kiss me. He started taking off my clothes. “It was really powerful.”

He told the court he told Ms Jamshaid to stop and used the ‘safe word’ twice but the attack continued.

He said: ‘Then he grabbed my shoulders. It was almost like I wasn’t even there. ‘He started having sex with me.’

The jury was told that after the alleged attack, Ms Jamshaid said: ‘You’re mine, you’re mine.’

The complainant said: ‘I felt like the worst person ever. I had reached a place where I was strong enough to let it go. ‘I felt so pathetic.’

The court previously heard Ms Jamshaid allegedly trapped the woman in the university toilet for most of the day.

The court heard that while there the defendant strangled her with his bare hands until she lost consciousness.

Ms Jamshaid is charged with multiple sexual offences, assault, strangulation and coercive and controlling behaviour.

He denies all 14 charges.

The trial continues.
