NHL news: Sharks, Panthers goalie fight during game

Two NHL goaltenders dropped their gloves and shook their fists Monday night.
The fight took place in the third period of the match between the San Jose Sharks and Florida Panthers, where the two-time Stanley Cup champions were trailing 3-1.

Florida’s Sergei Bobrovsky saw the fight developing between his teammates and Sharks players on the other side of the ice and skated down to hold hands with San Jose’s Alex Nedeljkovic. Fans in Sunrise, Florida chanted “Bobby! Bobby!” when the fight started to escalate.
The atmosphere went crazy. None of the punches were seen to hit the ground. Bobrovsky eventually fell to the ice when Nedeljkovic pinned him down.
San Jose eventually wrapped up the 4-1 win. Nedeljkovic made 35 saves in the win.

“We’re starting to learn how to play,” Sharks head coach Ryan Warsofsky said. via NHL.com. “We’re not going to tiptoe into a game. We’ve got to attack, we’ve got to move forward, and we’re a good hockey team. That was really the message, and the players did that from the get-go.”
Will Smith, Vincent Desharnais and Mario Ferraro scored in the second period to put the Sharks at the top.
San Jose’s win capped the return of Matthew Tkachuk, who had been out since Game 6 of the Stanley Cup final. He skated for nearly 21 minutes and had three shots on goal.
