Australian Open 2026 results: Aryna Sabalenka to face Iva Jovic in quarter-finals

Like Jovic, Belarusian Sabalenka has yet to drop a set at this year’s Australian Open.
He has now reached at least the quarter-finals in 13 consecutive Grand Slam matches and is two wins away from reaching a fourth straight final in Melbourne.
The champion of 2023 and 2024 lost last year’s final to American Madison Keys.
The 27-year-old appeared to be heading for a comfortable victory over 17th seed Mboko, ahead with a set and a double charge.
However, he nearly took a 4-1 lead in the second set and eventually clinched victory in the tiebreak.
“She’s a great player, it was quite a tough fight and I’m very happy that I was able to finish this match in straight sets,” Sabalenka said.
“The second set was a little tough, but I’m happy with the level I played and the way I completed this set.”
