The controversy started after BJP leader Nainar Nagendran responded to actor Vijay’s political ambitions with a personal statement referring to Trisha. Reacting to Vijay’s claim that his party will be a strong force in the upcoming Assembly elections, Nagendran said, “Poor guy, completely inexperienced. He needs to get out of his house first. Get out of Trisha’s house first, then something might happen.” The remarks have since come under criticism for crossing boundaries and unnecessarily dragging a woman’s name into political discourse.
