Fire engulf two coaches of Tatanagar-Ernakulam express train near Andhra Pradesh

A fire accident occurred in two coaches of the 18189 Tatanagar-Ernakulam Junction Superfast Express train near Yelamanchili Railway station in Anakapalli district of Andhra Pradesh in the morning hours of Monday, December 29, 2025.
According to South Central Railway officials, buses B-1 and M-2 were trapped and badly damaged in the fire, but fortunately, there was no loss of life. However, unconfirmed sources say that one person burned to death.
According to railway officials, the fire occurred on the train at around 01.11. The teams noticed the fire and immediately notified the fire department. Several fire trucks immediately arrived at the scene and were seen extinguishing the fire until final reports came in. Authorities also stated that according to initial information, there was no loss of life, but both wagons were completely burned.
Senior railway officials come to the scene and monitor the operation. Both carriages left the train.
A senior official who came to the scene stated that the fire was large and that the investigation was continuing to determine whether there was any loss of life and to determine the cause of the fire.
