Trump and Putin to meet to discuss end of Ukraine war; Australia promises US a defence revamp ahead of Albanese-Trump meeting
US President Donald Trump warned Hamas that if internal bloodshed in Gaza continues, “we will have no choice but to go in and kill them.”

Trump’s stern warning came after he downplayed domestic violence in the region since a ceasefire and hostage agreement between Israel and Hamas came into force last week in the two-year war.
Trump said this week that Hamas had eliminated “some very bad gangs” and killed many gang members. “To be honest, it didn’t bother me that much,” he said.
The Republican did not say how he would follow through with the threat, which was posted on the Truth Social platform earlier today. The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment seeking clarification.
But Trump also made clear that his patience with Hamas’s killings against rival groups is limited. “They will disarm, and if they don’t we will disarm them, and it will happen quickly and perhaps violently,” he said yesterday.
