US President Donald Trump After the peace talks with Iran in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad failed overnight, the USA announced that it would blockade the Strait of Hormuz.

Vice President J.D. Vance At a brief press conference, he announced that negotiations with Iran had failed after prolonged diplomatic efforts, at a time when Israel’s attacks on Lebanon were continuing.

Vance stated that it took “21 hours” for the negotiations to reach the point of failure, calling it “more bad news for Iran than bad news for the United States.”
