Trump announces Gold Card immigration initiative for citizenship path

President Donald Trump on Wednesday announced the launch of the highly anticipated “Trump Gold Card,” an immigration initiative designed to provide a new, streamlined path to U.S. citizenship.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump promoted the effort as “a direct path to Citizenship for all qualified and vetted people.”
“THE US GOVERNMENT’S TRUMP GOLD CARD IS HERE TODAY! A direct path to Citizenship for all qualified and vetted people,” Trump said.
“VERY EXCITING! Our Great American Companies are finally able to retain their invaluable Talent. Live Site launches in 30 minutes!” He added the application link: Trumpcard.gov.

Speaking at the White House, Trump also explained to reporters how funding from the initiative would provide a “tremendous amount of money.”
“All funds go to the U.S. government,” he said.
“It can be a tremendous amount of money. You too will be able to help people like this. Let me just give you an example… it’s a bit like a green card, but it has great advantages over a green card,” he added.

“And companies will be able to go to the Wharton School of Finance, the Stern School of Business, Harvard, MIT,” he explained, before explaining: “Actually in the United States, you can’t retain the student, you can’t recruit people from the top universities because you don’t know if you can retain the person.”
According to Fox News Digital, Trump first introduced the Gold Card concept in September.
The left side of the card features the president’s portrait, the Statue of Liberty and the American flag on a gold background, stamped “Trump Gold Card.”

Trump also wrote on Truth Social that same month: “For too long, millions of Illegal Aliens have been pouring into our country and our Immigration System is broken.”
“It is now beyond time for the American People and American Taxpayers to benefit from our LEGAL Immigration System.”

“We estimate that the TRUMP GOLD CARD will generate over $100 Billion very quickly,” Trump said.

“This money will be used to reduce Taxes, Pro Growth Projects and pay off our Debts,” he added.
According to TrumpCard.gov, the Trump Gold Card is a visa for individuals who can bring significant benefits to the United States and requires a non-refundable $15,000 processing fee and a $1 million gift after review; fees and documents are subject to expedited review once submitted.
Another option, the Trump Corporate Gold Card, allows companies to sponsor one or more employees by paying a non-refundable DHS processing fee of $15,000 per employee and making a $2 million gift upon review, the website says. The program includes a 1% annual maintenance fee, a 5% transfer fee for replacing sponsored employees, and possible additional State Department fees depending on individual circumstances.
