Racing car driver killed during motor championship

During a state championship event at a Motorsport Park, a racing car driver died in a single vehicle accident.

During the NSW Motor Racing Championship, after the incident on Saturday night, emergency services were called to Sydney Motorsport Park.

Medical officials gave medical treatment to the driver at the age of 53, but died at the scene.

The police founded a crime and will investigate the accident.

Officers will prepare a report for Coroner.

Police said Motorsport Australia was informed.
