“Charlie was one of a kind and will be forever missed,” Turning Point USA said of its CEO. “Violence and division have become very common in our country.”

“I don’t know that Charlie was a big country music fan… from what I heard he was more of a hip-hop guy. But I know he understood where we were coming from with this next song. And it’s an honor to honor him and his family tonight.”

Jason then performed his hit song “Try This in a Small Town”. He is also expected to perform “How Far Does a Goodbye Go”, a song from his new album, later in the program.

“We went to Charlie’s funeral in Arizona yesterday and it was very different than I expected in terms of it being faith-based,” Brittany began. “I knew it would happen, but everyone was worshiping… everyone. There was something different in the room.”

“The legacy this man left, the impact he had on so many people… I knew he impacted a lot of people, but this feels different,” Brittany said. “He said his death, from what everyone said at the ceremonies, felt like a revival. It brings more people in touch with their faith and makes a huge difference in so many different lives, and that was very clear yesterday.”

She noted: “It was overwhelming. I was always expecting to go in there and cry. I brought a big tissue and instead, it was strangely positive and extremely sad, but it was wonderful to hear stories about him personally and… how he affected people and how he will be so missed, but his legacy is so great.”
