Trump claims Iran’s Mojtaba Khamenei is dead after bombing | World | News

US President Donald Trump claimed that he had been informed that Iran’s new religious leader Mujtaba Khamenei was “not alive” and quickly added that if he was really alive, he should surrender.

The speculation about Khamenei, which emerged during a phone call with NBC News on Saturday, came after the newly appointed Iranian Ayatollah did not appear on camera last Thursday to deliver his inaugural address as leader of the beleaguered country, as expected.

“I don’t even know if he’s alive. No one has been able to point him out so far,” Trump said during a wide-ranging phone call with NBC. “I heard that he is not alive, and if he is, he must do something very wise for his country, and that is to surrender.”

According to The Sun, an anonymous source in Iran’s capital Tehran reported that Khamenei, 56, allegedly lost at least one leg and suffered serious abdominal or liver injuries during the US or Israeli attack. Mirror.

The source provided numerous details about the new leader’s alleged medical condition, treatment, location and security arrangements. According to the source, he is being treated at Sinai University Hospital in the city’s historic district, where an area has been cordoned off and heavily guarded.

Although Iranian state television confirmed that Khamenei was injured, the source’s claims cannot be independently verified, in part due to the ongoing internet blackout in Iran.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said in an interview with The Associated Press this morning that he was unaware of the severity of his injuries, but “what we know is that he is alive and functioning.”

The update came just hours after Iran’s foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, said there were “no problems” with the Islamic republic’s new leader after US officials claimed he was injured.

Yesterday, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the religious leader was “injured and possibly disfigured”.
