Trump debuts new ‘America Is Back!’ hat at White House bill signing event

A new slogan and its accompanying red hat debuted at the White House on Tuesday, as President Donald Trump signed the Consolidated Appropriations Act, reopening the federal government, with a roomful of Republican lawmakers in attendance.
It read “America is Back!” hat that says. Sitting at the Resolute Table in the Oval Office during the bill signing ceremony, House Speaker Mike Johnson praised the message as he stood next to the president.
“This is a good thing for the country and America is back,” Johnson said, adding that the hat was “appropriate” and the “correct slogan.”
Trump confirmed the novelty of the item by looking at the hat Johnson was holding during the signing event.
“This is a new hat,” Trump said. “[It] I just came out. America is back.”
Trump noticed CNN’s Kaitlan Collins in the press pool and joked: “Look, CNN is so excited [about the hat]. Look at him. He never smiles. I will never see it [smile]. But one day I’ll see him smile.”

The hat quickly became a visual focal point as the event focused on the passage of the far-reaching government funding package. But as of Tuesday afternoon, “America is Back!” The hat was not yet available for sale on the official Trump Store website, which currently features other Trump-branded products, including MAGA hats.
Johnson’s remarks come as Republicans try to defend passage of the Consolidated Appropriations Act (CAA) after days of uncertainty; Johnson stood behind Trump as the president signed the bill reopening the government.
The CAA signed Tuesday funds most federal agencies through the end of the fiscal year, but separate talks are ongoing on long-term funding for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Trump later argued that the new phrase was not a replacement for his longtime political slogan, “Make America Great Again.”
“We will never forget MAGA,” he said. “But I thought it was very appropriate.” You. “I like it,” Barasso, R-Wyo., added.
It’s unclear when or if the “America is Back” hat will be available. Trump’s online store.
