Trump Drops Whopper of a Claim When NBC Anchor Asks if He’ll Testify on Epstein Files in Blockbuster Interview

TOM LLAMAS: We haven’t had a chance to talk about the Department of Justice. I appreciate all your time and your staff’s time. They were very, very kind.

Should anyone else expect DO J to go after them the way you go after some of your political enemies?

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: We remember this story. I was accused twice, two false charges, and won both times easily.

The Republicans were with me 100 percent, but I won both. I’ve been accused 87 different times and you asked me this question.

I think I’m extremely moderate, especially because of what he did to me. They wanted to take me down. I told someone to do me a favor, add the numbers. If I lose, you know, I won.

But if I lose these cases, add up the numbers and tell me how long will I have to spend in prison? Do you know what they found? 287 years. I said I better win.

TOM LLAMAS: Do you think that calculation means it’s okay for the Justice Department to go after your political enemies?

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: I might be involved, too. You know, I am the chief law enforcement officer of the United States. I could be involved, but I’m not. I don’t choose this.

But they told me, you go after people, I was blamed all those times. 287 years in prison.

At the press conference yesterday, they asked me a question about Clinton because of the statement. The Epstein thing, it turned out I had nothing to do with Epstein, and so did they.

And they said, subpoenas and stuff, do you think that’s a terrible thing and they’re disobeying subpoenas?

And actually I said it was such a shame. You have a former president and now you have the president’s wife and the secretary of state. And I said: This is such a shame. This is so embarrassing.

TOM LLAMAS: NBC News broke the story today. I don’t know if you’ve seen the Democrats already say, if you bring in President Bill Clinton and he has to testify, we’ll bring in President Trump. What do you say to this?

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: I think they could say that, you know. But they already brought me. Look, I’ve been brought. They accused me many times. Many times. They didn’t do this to Clinton.
