Trump explodes at ‘crazy’ Democrats for ‘destroying our country’ and ‘refusing’ to protect Americans… as the Squad goes berserk and dozens storm out: Live updates

President Donald Trump addresses the nation in his State of the Union address at the U.S. Capitol this evening.

Moments after entering the House of Representatives on Tuesday night, Democratic congressman Al Green held up a banner as the president walked and said: ‘Black People are not monkeys.’ He was escorted out of the chamber shortly after Majority Leader Steven Scalise took the sign away.

He then blasted the Democratic congressman for refusing to stand up in support of protecting American citizens from illegal alien criminal activity. “Stand up if you agree with this statement: The first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens, not illegal aliens,” he said as several Democrats took their seats.

At least 70 Democrats will boycott Trump’s State of the Union by counter-scheduling or protesting on the National Mall. Others launched a sabotage plan aimed at striking during Trump’s speech as he prepared to reset his agenda.

During his speech, Trump touched upon his policies to strengthen the US economy, as well as the reorganization of global trade and tax cuts.

The president had previously warned that his speech would be long, arguing that the country was ‘strong, prosperous and respected’ as it entered its 250th anniversary. “It’s going to be a long conversation because we have a lot to talk about,” Trump said Monday.

This led to the deployment of immigration enforcement officers to Minneapolis.

‘There has never been a more striking example than this’ [of corruption] “More than Minnesota, where members of the Somali community are tearing apart the fabric of a nation,” Trump said in his State of the Union address.

Trump says SCOTUS decision on tariffs ‘very unfortunate’

‘An unfortunate decision from the United States Supreme Court just four days ago. “A very unfortunate decision has been made,” Trump said.

However, he did not appear to recant and insisted that the tariffs be paid by foreign countries.

“I used these tariffs of hundreds of billions of dollars to make huge deals for our country, both economically and on a national security basis, and everything was going well,” Trump said.

Tariffs paid by foreign countries will largely replace today’s income tax system, as it has in the past.

‘Congressional action will not be necessary. Already time tested and approved.’
